| Description | Iraqi Minister of Electricity, visiting Egypt, was quoted in the media saying Egyptian companies stand good chances to get a share in projects for the Iraqi energy sector rehabilitation. He indicated that contracts worth $ 4 billion are to be soon awarded in Iraq for the rehabilitation & revamping of power stations, substations, also of power transmission lines & distribution networks. The official seemed counting greatly on Egypt to train Iraqi technicians on relevant operation & maintenance skills. He further revealed that a contract would be soon signed to import from Egypt 500,000 electricity meters required for households in Baghdad area.
