| Description | Prime Minister, Dr. Atef Ebeid, has recently endorsed ( execution & award procedures of ) L.E. 900 million roads & bridges construction projects. They include L.E. 600 million for the double tracking of 360 km long Cairo/ Assuit highway on the west side of the Nile & L.E. 300 million for three bridges across the Nile in El Wasta (in Beni Swef Governorate), in Mallawi & Beni Mazar (in Minya Governorate). The highway project is scheduled for completion in 2 – 3 years while the bridges are for completion in 1.5 to 2 years. Implementing agency is GARBLT – General Authority for Roads, Bridges & land Transport. GARBLT Chairman, Eng. Adel Yousef, said projects were awarded to a number of national companies. |
