| Description | Cisco Systems Egypt & Near East declared winner of a $ 38 million contract in Syria to develop the country Internet infrastructure. Contract provides for Cisco to assist in the transmission of sound & data through the Syrian networks using so called soft switches. That was announced by Eng. Yasser Al Qadi, director general of Cisco Systems Egypt & Near East, indicating the scheme would greatly benefit Syrian universities & other public organizations. Works on the project is scheduled to start March 2003. |
