| Description | A study prepared by the General Authority for Urban Planning in cooperation with UNDP – United Nations Development Program, has concluded the existence of reasonably promising investment opportunities in East Oweinat. They extend to new & renewable energy recovery, growing of medical & aromatic plants, export geared ecology crops, traditional & untraditional animal production, also agro-industries. The study indicated that the area disposes on 200,000 feddans arable land to be irrigated (safely) by underground water requiring L.E. 3.5 billion investments for infrastructure. [ How fast international consultants would be hired to promote investments in such a virgin area, that remains to be seen. Still availing/ consolidating land & air transport facilities are a mere must to link East Oweinat with the Valley]. |
