| Description | Contracts worth L.E. 700 million were recently awarded for the double tracking of Cairo/ Fayyoum/ Assuit 360 Km long desert road. Winners are state owned companies reporting to the Holding Co. for Roads & Bridges Projects. Project provides also for the construction of three overhead bridges across the Nile in El Wasta, Mallawi & Beni Mazar worth L.E. 450 million. According to Eng. Mohamed Salah, head of the Holding Co., project is scheduled for completion in 18 months to become the first double track highway in Upper Egypt. |
