| Description | According to North Sinai Governor, General Ahmed Abdel Hamid, works are to soon start on L.E. 60 million project for the deepening, revamping & extension of El Arish Sea Port. It is planned to go over two stages. The first provides for the revamping of the existing dock to be able to handle 30,000 tons vessels up from 12,000 tons vessels at present, while the second provides for the construction of a new dock. The port performance in 2003 reached about one million tons covering salt, sand glass, regular & white cement, clinker, kaolin & feldspar, carried by 252 vessels. |
