The company is a 50 / 50 joint venture between Giesland Co. of Australia & the Egyptian Mineral Wealth Co., affiliated to EGSM – the Egyptian General Authority for Geological Survey & Mining. It was earlier awarded concession rights in that area for 20 years. According to EGSM Chairman, Dr. Abul Hassan Abdel Raouf, reserves of tantalum & other minerals at that area are estimated at 40 million tons. |
