| Description | Six banks and financing institutions has extended $ 250 million medium term syndicated loan to EFC - Egyptian Fertilizers Co. SAE to finance its first extension project targeting to double its annual capacity of ammonia & urea from 635,000 tons to 1,270,000 tons, all geared for export. The banking consortium included APICORP, OPEC Fund for Development, Banque Misr, MI Bank, NSGB and HSBC. Project, scheduled for completion in 33 months, goes under $ 322 million total estimated investments. EFC exports since it started production two years ago were put at $ 305 million. Chairman of EFC is Eng. Adel El Mozi. EFC is affiliated to giant Orascom Group. Worth indicating is that EFC operates as a private free zone under the investment law. |
